Avoid These Mistakes In Transition

The transition area during a triathlon has become my area of domination. I am able to get in and get out very fast but still stay composed. I have been asked advice from many people so here you go.

With my first triathlon of the season this weekend, I felt it would be best to provide those newbie triathletes with what to do and NOT to do to make for an easy transition experience.

The Best Wireless Headsets

I love to run with music but I was always finding that my headphones would stop working because of the sweat and moisture or I would lose them. After trying out many brands and researching I have found that wireless Bluetooth headphones are a great option because you don't have to worry about the outlets becoming unplugged due to yanking. The downside is you have to recharge them because they will die. These are my top favorite Bluetooth headphones and I give you the positives and negatives of each brand.

The Ultimate Running Playlist

Credit of Paul Falardeau on Flickr
When I first started running, I chose popular music because it was easy to make a playlist. What I found, however, was that I got bored and annoyed very quickly with hearing the same music over and over again even if it was popular. So I started researching music that I have always loved and can listen to over and over again and not get bored. I also tried to find music that had a high amount of BPM and songs that helped me get amped up.

The Motigo App

During a race, have you ever wanted to have your friends or family call and cheer you on while running? Well, Motigo has designed an app to do just that.

It is the first personalized motivational running app. What I like about the app is that it tells you the day before the race, how many cheers you have waiting for you. After downloading it, the user can select the event or events that they are running and use the built-in social features to invite their friends and family to record personalized cheers.

Flying Pig Half Marathon

Flying Pig Half Marathon
Cincinnati, OH
May 3rd, 2015
Finish Time: 1:48:20

Yes, people actually dressed like that in the pig suit. I wanted to run the Flying Pig because I had heard such great things about it, and man was I right. This race was incredibly well organized, from the expo to the start line to the race itself.
